On March 23, 2012 Zhejiang Huafon Spandex Co., Ltd. (Huafon Spandex) announced to build the first phase of 230000 t/a benzene deep processing project.
Construction of the project is started in March 2012 and will be finished and be operational in September 2013. The project adopts the technology of hydrogenation of benzene to cyclohexane, and further to produce cyclohexanone via oxidation process. The project has an initial investment of RMB500 million, and is expected to produce 120 000 tons of cyclohexanone every year after full operational. Huafon Spandex is a leading spandex producer in China. Cyclohexanone is an important raw materials for producing spandex.
