Silphobic 60 is fine particle hydrophobic silica. Silphobic 60 contains larger than 2 % chemically bound carbon and is therefore not wettable by water. The wettability of Silphobic 60 with methanol is approx. 58 % and indicates its highly hydrophobic character. Due to its high effectiveness and ease of dispersion, so Silphobic 60 is very suitable to be used in a great variety of defoamer.
