Silphobic 6508 is precipitated silica
whose surface is modified with organosilane for
application in the rubber industry.
Silphobic 6508 is used as reinforcing
filler in rubber compounds. They react with unsaturated polymers during
vulcanization under formation of covalent chemical bounds. This imparts greater
tensile strength, high moduli, reduced compression set, increased abrasion
resistance and optimized dynamic properties.
The application areas of Silphobic 6508:
low rolling resistant tires with high wet grip and low heat generation,
mechanical rubber goods, shoe soles.
